Will my Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) survive the winter outside?
Perhaps, but only in a sheltered shady spot away from frosts. Given those conditions, spider plants are surprisingly tough, and can make an attractive ground cover in milder districts — in Australia they can be fairly invasive. Anyway, best pot up a few offshoots (pups) and keep them indoors just in case. Spider plants are native to South Africa, an easy-care plant — it will even grow in an aquarium if started off small.
