The number of Covid-19 cases in the MidCentral Health region has decreased in the past week although people are still dying with the disease. MidCentral Chief Medical Officer Kelvin Billinghurst said there were seven reported Covid-related deaths in the last week. “Our thoughts and sympathies are with their friends and wha¯ nau.” The 2042 total active cases of Covid-19 in the MidCentral region was a 17.1 percent decrease on the seven days prior. “We currently have 52 Covid-19 hospitalisations, with no Covid-19 patients in the ICU,” he said.
